Field Lead About the Role Dahmes installs custom stainless steel systems at customer processing facilities across North America. You won't find us on a shelf—we engineer, build, and install every system on-site. That means complex projects in active plants, tight timelines, and teams that need to move together. As a Field Lead, you'll oversee installation crews doing sanitary welding, pipefitting, rigging, and system assembly. You'll read drawings and P&IDs, lead your team to Dahmes standards, solve problems in real time, and mentor crew members to build their skills. You work under a Field Supervisor's guidance and report directly to them, but on-site, you're the one making sure the work is precise, safe, and done right. This role requires 100% travel on a 9-days-on, 5-days-off schedule (Tuesday through the following Wednesday). You'll work in different plants, different teams, and different conditions. The work is technical, the pace is real, and the impact is measurable. What You'll Do Lead field teams performing TIG, MIG, and sanitary tubing welding; advanced pipefitting and piping layout; sheet metal fabrication; and complex rigging and installation to Dahmes specifications Read and interpret drawings, P&IDs, and technical plans; work with Field Supervisor on full-scale layouts and verify that installations meet Dahmes standards Inspect work progress and project sites to verify safety compliance and that specifications are met; identify problems and work with your supervisor to develop and implement solutions Train and mentor crew members; build overall crew skill development and demonstrate strong communication with team Lead site safety by example; assist Field Supervisor in maintaining a safe work environment What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED Formal welding training and/or 5+ years of similar field or installation experience preferred Advanced proficiency in stainless TIG and MIG welding, complex pipefitting, sanitary grinding and polishing to 3-A standards, and sheet metal work Advanced rigging skills with practical knowledge of signaling, cranes, and telehandlers Strong math skills applied to measurements, layout, and precision installation Ability to climb ladders and stairs frequently; must be able to lift heavy objects Valid driver's license and ability to pass DOT physical and drug test Flexibility with scheduling and always punctual; ability to adapt to different work and team environments Able to commit to 100% travel on 9-days-on/5-days-off schedule (Tuesday through following Wednesday, including travel days) Why Dahmes Dahmes is vertically integrated.
