Job Summary Our company is seeking a Repair Technician to join our team! This role requires an individual who conducts repairs, maintenance on hay grinders, machinery, semi's, pickups, forklifts and other equipment. This Repair Tech will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines, mechanical systems. • Perform a variety of manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, and repair duties throughout the plant and equipment operations.
• Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and metal repair using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Assist with electrical installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance of equipment and systems.
• Operate and maintain machine shop equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, drills, and other machining tools.
• Perform equipment adjustments, repairs, and preventative maintenance to keep machinery operating safely and efficiently.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot hay grinding and material-processing equipment.
• Inspect machinery and equipment for wear, damage, or potential safety issues and report or correct problems as appropriate.
• Safely operate forklifts, loaders, trucks, and other material-handling or plant equipment as assigned.
• Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and equipment inspections.
• Read and follow work orders, equipment manuals, drawings, and safety procedures.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required PPE practices.
• Assist with installation, modification, and improvement of plant equipment and production systems.
• Work with supervisors and other employees to identify and resolve equipment and production issues.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment activities as required.
• Perform general labor and other duties as necessary to support daily plant operations.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work across multiple areas of the facility based on operational needs. Qualifications
• Able to remain focused and productive throughout the day.
• Must be able to use verbal, written skills to communicate in English effectively, basic documentation and computer skills with ability to read and interpret tape measure, technical manuals and schematics.
• Experience hands on general mechanical experience - large agricultural machinery, equipment, hydraulics, steel fabrication and welding experience a plus.
• Agricultural background helpful but not necessary.
• Good Mechanical knowledge in repair and trouble shooting skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Adaptability between repairs, machinery and working conditions.
• Ability to work in various physical positions, stand and walk up to 8 hours a day, lift minimum of 75lbs.
• Self-starter with good time management skills.
• Potential ability to cross train into other departments.
