Job Description:
The Mechanical Foreman leads a crew, installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots industrial mechanical systems and machinery in commercial and industrial environments. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical aptitude, precision work with industrial equipment, and close collaboration with riggers, welders, electricians, and other trades to support plant relocations, equipment upgrades, rigging operations, and preventive maintenance while meeting high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Responsibilities Install, position, level, and align industrial machinery, including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and mechanical assemblies. Use precision tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and laser alignment systems to ensure accurate setup and alignment. Assist with rigging operations, equipment moves, and plant relocation projects in coordination with broader project services. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and perform corrective repairs to restore safe and reliable operation. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and equipment assessments to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Fabricate or modify parts using cutting, grinding, machining, or welding equipment as needed to support mechanical installations and repairs. Essential Skills At least 4+ years of millwright construction and/or industrial experience, and possess leadership experience Basic welding skills sufficient to support fabrication, mounting, and mechanical assemblies. Strong understanding of OSHA and industrial safety standards and procedures. Working knowledge of NEC and industrial environments where electrical and mechanical systems interface Excellent problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Effective communication skills to coordinate with project managers, trades, and team members. Why Work Here? You will frequently work in confined spaces, at heights, and outdoors in extreme weather conditions, requiring consistent use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to strict safety protocols. Travel up to approximately 75% is expected, with varying site conditions and schedules driven by project needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pottstown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
