Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately assemble machinery and metal structures. Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Utilize power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and gas metal arc welding equipment to cut, shape, and join metal components. Conduct construction site work involving crane operation assistance, assembly of equipment, and installation of fabricated parts while adhering to safety protocols. Fabricate sheet metal components and perform metal materials handling with attention to detail for quality control. Maintain a clean work environment by following safety procedures, inspecting tools and equipment regularly, and documenting work progress. Requirements Proven construction site experience with familiarity in assembly, installation, and maintenance of machinery or structural components. Strong welding skills across multiple techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with knowledge of AWS standards. Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and interpret technical specifications accurately. Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise fabrication. Mechanical knowledge related to machinery assembly, metal fabrication processes, machining operations, plasma cutting, and construction practices. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and mechanical blueprint interpretation in a shop or field environment. Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, safety protocols, crane operations assistance, and construction site safety standards. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings.
