Role:
As a Welder Helper in the Beaumont, TX area, you will play an essential role in supporting welders and craft professionals in the safe and efficient completion of fabrication, maintenance, and construction projects. You will assist with preparing materials, maintaining tools and equipment, setting up work areas, and ensuring all welding activities are performed safely and efficiently. Your contributions will directly support project success while helping maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods Ability to work in various weather conditions and industrial environments Basic knowledge of hand and power tools Commitment to following all safety procedures and company policies
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in welding, fabrication, construction, or a related industrial field OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Experience working in refinery, petrochemical, or industrial environments Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols Familiarity with welding equipment and materials
Responsibilities:
Assist welders with setup, preparation, and completion of welding tasks Gather, transport, and organize tools, materials, and equipment at job sites Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding, cutting, and fabrication processes Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition Perform grinding, chipping, and other support activities as directed Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, and staging of materials Follow all company, customer, and site-specific safety requirements Support project completion by working effectively with welders, supervisors, and team members Identify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or quality concerns
Skills:
As a Welder Helper , you will use your knowledge of tools, materials, and industrial work practices to support welding operations and maintain productivity. Strong attention to safety, teamwork, and communication will be critical in assisting welders and ensuring projects are completed on schedule. Your ability to follow instructions, work in physically demanding environments, and maintain a strong work ethic will contribute to the success of the team and the quality of the finished product. Experience in industrial maintenance, fabrication, or construction environments will be a valuable asset in this role.
Physical Demands:
Will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting. Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. Will work at slight heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work from platforms using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
