Hexcel is currently seeking a Maintenance Millwright for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Fibers location. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair complex deficiencies in manufacturing/facility equipment and makes necessary repairs. Acts as a millwright by installing and assuring that new and modified production equipment operates as designed and to manufacturer's specifications. Experience in drive systems, gear boxes, pumps, pneumatics, pipefitting, hydraulics, utilities, welding machine work and steam systems. Performs periodic Preventive Maintenance procedures on equipment to prolong life and reduce maintenance costs. Ensures that products meet customer specifications and expectations. Works in a team environment to reach consensus decisions within the guidelines and boundaries established by Hexcel and maintains constructive relationships with co-workers. Utilizes OSHA's safe work practices, and other safety tools, including appropriate personal protective equipment and Lock-out-Tag-out to perform job assignments in a safe and efficient manner. Always operates in compliance with the Hexcel Salt Lake Quality System and Quality Policy. Complies with Hexcel policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Five years of recent experience in a heavy industrial setting, journeyman Millwright strongly preferred. Working knowledge of precision measuring devices including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, dial indicators, torque wrenches, and additional measuring tools. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals including blue-prints and mechanical drawings/schematics. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and perform basic computer functions. Ability to speak effectively before other employees of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, etc. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must be able to pass a written Mechanical Aptitude Test Ability to demonstrate the step-by-step precision alignment of various equipment Ability to perform basic SMAW and GMAW welding techniques on various metals. GTAW a plus Basic understanding of the safe operation of machine shop equipment including Mill, Lathe, Drill Press, Iron Worker, Hydraulic Press, etc.
