We supply advanced materials, ferrites and magnetic materials, dielectrics, ceramic bandpass filters, coaxial resonators, and coaxial inductors.
Job Title:
MW/RF Wireless Technician
Position Overview:
The MW/RF Technician is responsible for the development, design, and manufacturing support of microwave passive devices, with a focus on ceramic resonator-based filters. This role involves concept development, design documentation, prototype testing, and successful manufacturing introduction. The senior technician will provide technical leadership and support across various stages of product development and lifecycle management.
Essential Job Functions:
Technical Support:
Provide training and technical support from concept through prototype to ensure smooth transition into volume manufacturing. Interface with manufacturing to resolve production and technical problems.
Assist with
Design and Development:
Conceptualize, plan, design, develop, and analyze microwave filters for frequencies between < 1 GHz to 40 GHz.
Component Selection:
Select electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry based on specifications and reliability. Review vendor capabilities to support product development.
Bench Design and Tuning:
To build prototype filters on the bench tuned to meet design performance specifications.
Precision Solder Techniques:
skills for solder/solder reflow of surface-mount devices (SMD) and apply visual acceptance criteria for inspection of finished products as defined in
IPC-A-610
Competencies:
Good soldering techniques and able to do solder rework using a microscope.
Familiarity with ESD safety and prevention.
Experience with RF Test and Measurement equipment, Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Frequency Generators, Power Amplifiers, Oscilloscopes, DVM's, etc.
Experience with multi-layer printed wiring boards (PWB) design and layout up to 40 GHz.
Knowledge of metallization processes, including thick film processes.
Ability to use diagnostic and microwave evaluation and test equipment.
Strong analytical and design methodology skills.
Proficiency with AutoCAD or SolidWorks and standard computer software packages (Microsoft Word and Excel).
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent plus formal military or commercial electronics training, or an associate degree in electronics technology with knowledge in radio frequency/microwave theory and technology.
Experience:
Experience in RF/microwave hardware development, with progressively increasing responsibility is a plus.
Skills:
Competent in RF measurements and design validation procedures with the ability to apply microwave theory in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of passive microwave devices is a plus. Ability to read/follow wiring schematics.
Knowledge of the ANSYS simulation software a plus.
