This role requires strong electrical and mechanical fundamentals, the ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation, and the professionalism to operate independently while representing the company on customer sites. This technician plays a critical role in ensuring system reliability, safety, and quality standards are consistently met while supporting customer operations through effective diagnostics and clear communication. Core Technical Duties & Expectations a) Compressed Air, Vacuum, and Refrigeration Knowledge i) Strong working understanding of compressed air theory and industrial applications. ii) Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on compressed air systems, rotary screw and reciprocating compressors, vacuum equipment, and refrigerant-based air dryers iii)Experience servicing reciprocating compressors, rotary screw compressors, vacuum pumps, and air treatment equipment iv)Refrigeration system knowledge, including refrigerant-based air dryers and related cooling systems v)Understanding of refrigeration cycles, heat transfer, and system performance vi) Execute preventive maintenance and corrective repairs to support operational uptime vii) Support team coordination in the field when working alongside other technicians or dispatch Technical and Professional Expectation I) Service and repair of mechanical and electrical components on reciprocating compressors ii) Preventive maintenance and repair of rotary screw compressors, including filtration and air-oil separation systems iii) Working knowledge of refrigeration components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion devices, pressure switches, and fans iv) Ability to diagnose electrical systems including contactors, overloads, fuses, motors, sensors, and controls v) Navigate controllers, alarms, and fault codes across multiple equipment brands vi) Exposure to VFDs and variable-speed systems preferred Troubleshooting and Diagnostics i) Diagnose operational issues including high discharge temperatures, loss of capacity, abnormal pressures, airflow restrictions, and electrical faults ii) Troubleshoot refrigeration-related faults such as refrigerant loss, fan failures, clogged condensers, faulty pressure switches, and cooling performance issues iii) Perform intermediate diagnostics on dryers, rotary screw compressors, and vacuum systems iv) Assist with or perform repairs and component replacements as experience allows Safety and Compliance i) Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration safety practices ii) Consistent use of lockout, depressurization, and refrigerant handling procedures iii) Awareness of on-site hazards and environmental considerations iv) Compliance with EPA and refrigerant handling regulations preferred Customer Interaction and Professionalism i) Act as a professional on-site representative ii) Clearly explain findings, repairs, and recommendations to customers iii) Review service documentation with customers when appropriate iv) Maintain professional on-site behavior and communication with internal staff and company leadership. Documentation and Tools i) Accurate and timely service documentation and reporting ii) Proficiency or ability to quickly become proficient with ServiceTitan and/or similar platforms we may use. iii) Maintain and build a technician tool set suitable for mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration service iv) Keep work areas, service vehicles, and tools organized and job-ready Evaluation and Accountability i) Performance assessed through hands-on diagnostics, job quality, safety adherence, and customer feedback ii) Ongoing feedback from senior technicians and management Ideal Background & Preferred Qualifications i) Prior experience in compressed air, refrigeration, vacuum, or industrial mechanical service environments. ii) EPA Section 608 certification preferred? iii) Mechanical or electrical training, trade school, or equivalent field experience iv) Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working independently. Pay:
$25.00 - $45.00 per hour
