ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Refrigeration Service Technician II is an advanced, customer-facing technical expert responsible for independently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex commercial refrigeration, cooking equipment, and ice machines. This role serves as a technical leader within the service team, providing mentorship, troubleshooting support, and quality oversight while consistently delivering exceptional customer service.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation :
install, maintain and repair refrigeration systems.Maintenance :
perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure systems are functioning properly, including equipment service and cleaning.Troubleshooting :
Accurately diagnose problems and identify repairs or replacementsInspections :
Inspect systems and components to ensure safetyRecord Keeping :
Keep records of work performed, including service summary, hours worked at a job site, inventory used, warranty requirements, and invoice creation.Customer Service:
communicate with customer about system diagnosis and provide information on service actions and/or recommendations.Training:
Assist in training others on work techniques.Housekeeping :
Maintain a clean vehicle, with inventory easily accessible.- On -
Call :
rotating with other technicians to support weekend coverage, as needed.CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 5+ years of field experience in refrigeration. Cooking equipment experience is a plus.
- Strong ability to install, maintain and trouble shoot various brands of ice machines, refrigerators, cooking equipment, and walk in refrigerators/freezers.
- Able to carry 50 pounds.
- Willing to learn and adapt as equipment requirements change.
- Ability to trouble shoot equipment failures with internal team members and manufacturer call centers.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively at multiple levels both inside and outside of the organization
- Possess an understanding of inventory management to ensure parts are stocked and organized.
- Committed to meeting the expectations and needs of both internal and external customers.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and collaborative environment with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to be agile with a flexible schedule
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively and quickly.
- Proficient with QuickBooks, FieldPulse or similar online applications.
- Flexible and dependable with work schedule, including on-call shift (nights and weekends), holidays, overtime, and occasional domestic travel.
