  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chiller Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of large-scale chiller systems and mechanical equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, refrigeration units, and building automation systems across diverse property environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical knowledge in a fast-paced setting while contributing to the reliable operation of critical mechanical systems. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional service. Duties Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on chiller units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and HVAC equipment to ensure continuous operation. Diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and refrigeration issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Utilize HVAC design principles and building automation systems to optimize system performance and energy efficiency. Conduct electrical diagnostics and repairs on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) equipment while adhering to safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerant handling. Repair and maintain mechanical systems including pumps, valves, motors, welding components, and other related equipment. Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot system failures effectively. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and logs of all maintenance activities for compliance and reporting purposes. Operate a company vehicle responsibly as a driver when required for field service assignments across multiple sites. Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems to support overall building operations. Qualifications Proven experience as a chiller service technician with a focus on HVAC/R systems; construction experience is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing mechanical systems such as boilers, pumps, valves, and refrigeration units. Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, HVAC design principles, building automation systems (BAS), and electrical diagnostics. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; experience with ammonia refrigeration is advantageous. Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters and welding equipment safely and effectively. Experience with appliance repair or property maintenance related to air conditioning or mechanical systems is preferred. Knowledge of plumbing systems relevant to HVAC applications; experience in boiler operation or mechanic roles is beneficial. Excellent field service skills with the ability to troubleshoot efficiently in diverse environments. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience as a driver preferred.
