Description Boiler & Refrigeration Technician Description The Boiler & Refrigeration Technician is responsible for safely operating, maintaining, and repairing all major plant utility systems, including ammonia refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, wastewater, hot/cold water, and related mechanical infrastructure. This role ensures equipment reliability through preventive maintenance, timely troubleshooting, and adherence to all safety, food‑safety, and company policies. The technician supports daily maintenance operations and performs both scheduled and unscheduled tasks as directed by leadership. Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, compressed air systems, and facility utilities. Conduct preventive maintenance on valve stations, piping, and elevated system components using ladders, stairs, and platforms. Monitor and maintain refrigeration, boiler, compressed air, and hot/cold water systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. Complete all assigned work orders—scheduled and unscheduled—in a timely and accurate manner. Assist in daily maintenance department operations, supporting all plant maintenance areas as needed. Document maintenance activities according to safety, food safety, and company policy requirements. Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO, confined space, fall protection, hot work, and other required training. Perform other duties as assigned. Functional Requirements HVAC license preferred but not required. Ability to follow supervisor direction and complete tasks independently. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment safely and effectively. Commitment to maintaining compliance with safety, food safety, and company procedures. EOE/VETS/DISABILITY
