Provide service, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair for malfunctions and/or failures of key systems and components. Evaluate for root cause failures with electronic tools, failure analysis, and schematics. Demonstrate proper communication methods to effectively explain equipment, condition, status, recommendations to customers, associates, and management. Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities Maintain mid to extensive working knowledge of heavy equipment component functions. This will include but is not limited to; hydraulic, fuel, brakes, power train, air, and diesel engine systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures. Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components. Maintain company equipment - keep in good clean orderly condition and report deficiencies to supervisors. Complete related paperwork accurately and timely. Work safely at all times. Own and maintain required personal tools. Provide on-the-job training to technicians and helpers as assigned. Make warranty recommendations. Communicate with proper individuals to clarify instructions or discuss scope or progress of job. Perform other related duties as assigned. Review inspections of commercial motor vehicles. Works overtime as needed. Skills & Abilities Appropriate manner, conduct and Attitude Physical Requirements The physical demands of the job will include but not limited to: Required to sit, use hands, talk or hear, stand, reach outward, walk, climb, squat or kneel. Required to lift or carry 0-100 lbs Ability to handle stress especially with regard to short deadlines and quick changes to scheduling.
