This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of automotive systems, perform precise inspections, and deliver exceptional customer service. As a key contributor to vehicle safety and environmental compliance, you'll gain hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and emissions testing, all within a fast-paced, supportive environment. Duties Conduct comprehensive smog inspections on standard passenger cars to verify emissions compliance using specialized testing equipment Perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire changes, fluid checks, and basic mechanical repairs to prepare vehicles for testing Utilize hand tools and power tools to repair or replace automotive parts and systems as needed during inspections Diagnose issues related to automotive electrical systems and mechanical components, ensuring accurate assessments Assist customers by explaining inspection results, recommending necessary repairs, and providing excellent service throughout the process Maintain detailed records of vehicle inspections, repairs performed, and test results for compliance documentation Support vehicle maintenance activities including oil changes, brake checks, and general mechanical system repairs Skills Strong knowledge of standard passenger car operation and automotive systems Mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance and repair procedures Proficiency in automotive tire change techniques and use of hand tools and power tools Familiarity with automotive parts, accessories, and electrical systems for accurate diagnostics Excellent customer service skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical information Experience with auto estimating software and vehicle inspection procedures Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during mechanical repairs or parts replacement Previous mechanic experience preferred to ensure comprehensive understanding of automotive repair processes VSSI Certified is a plus ASE Certified requiredRequirements Clean Driver's License Mechanical Knowledge Pay:
