Position Overview:

BEPC is seeking an experienced Electronic Technician / Electronic Service Repair Technician to support electronic equipment troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, testing, and production test activities in Pleasanton, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic devices down to the component level, along with experience using electronic diagnostic and test equipment. This position is specifically focused on electronics repair and service. Candidates with primarily electrician or electrical construction experience will not be considered a match unless they also possess direct electronic troubleshooting and component-level repair experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, maintain, adjust, and test electronic equipment and devices.
• Perform electronic repairs down to the component level.
• Read and interpret electronic schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Use diagnostic and electronic test equipment including:
• Digital multimeters (DMM)
• Oscilloscopes
• Function generators
• Power supplies
• Other electronic diagnostic tools
• Perform testing and troubleshooting within a production or bench-test environment.
• Identify defective electronic components and perform appropriate repairs or replacements.
• Perform Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) troubleshooting and repair.
• Complete bench-level electronic repair activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to testing, repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment condition.
• Follow established work instructions, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
• Utilize basic computer systems for documentation, testing, and communication.
• Depending on business needs, the position may transition into or support a Service Technician function, assisting end users with troubleshooting via phone and/or email.

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment or devices.
• Strong experience performing component-level electronic troubleshooting and repair.
• Previous SMT experience is required.
• Experience working in a production test environment.
• Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, function generators, and power supplies.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Education
• Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
• Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree in Electronics, or
• Electronic Technician / Electronics certification, or
• Approximately 5 years of directly relevant hands-on electronic service and repair experience.

Additional Requirements:

• Candidates must be willing to receive a Hepatitis B vaccination due to the nature of the work.
• The vaccination will be covered by the client.
• Candidates must be comfortable working in a hands-on electronic repair and testing environment.
• This role requires electronic technician / electronic service repair experience rather than electrician experience.
