POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs all types of mechanical repairs and maintenance work on commercial and contractor products. This position also performs small engine overhaul and maintenance on gas and diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.
Prerequisites for this position include:
? High school education or equivalent. ? Evidence of specialized education in gas/diesel and electrical maintenance and repair. ? Experience as service technician a minimum of 1 year. ? Turf equipment maintenance a definite plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Responsible for trouble shooting and repairing mechanical problems for commercial/contractor products. ? Performs repair and maintenance on small gas and diesel engines and machine's hydraulic systems and/or electrical systems. ? Performs simple reel/blade sharpening. ? Sets up new equipment for customers or as demonstrators as needed. ? Recondition used and lease return equipment for resale as required. ? Works with Service Advisor or Shop Forman to order parts as needed. ? Fills out the job ticket for each repair or set-up. Records parts used, repair functions performed and time needed to perform repair functions. ? Responsible for maintaining his own tools, work area, and shop tools in a clean and safe working order. ? Manually or with use of a fork truck, moves equipment into work area for repair or set-up. ? Responsible for properly tagging and identification of completed setups/repairs and parts for warranty parts retention
ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITES
? Working as a team to assist the overall productivity and efficiency of the shop and service department. Help others where needed. ? Assisting the Shop Foreman or Service Manager as needed to meet customer expectation. 2 POSITION
QUALIFICATIONS
Education High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Experience One or more years related experience
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Certificates & Licenses Must be able to comply with company's insurance requirements for driving and/or operating equipment. Other Requirements
PERTINENT PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a very "active" position. The service technician is on his feet 80% or more of the time he is working. This position requires applicant to have the mobility and complete use of both hands and legs to bend, kneel or lay under any piece of equipment. Applicant must have the strength to grip tools to perform repairs or assembly of equipment.
He / She
must have the ability to lift 75 pounds as they perform their job functions. The person in this position must be physically able to accomplish these demands.
Pay Details:
