Service Technician
Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Service Technician to perform diagnostic service, controls work, equipment start-up, and preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems. The technician will inspect systems, recommend efficient repairs and upgrades, and work with customers and factory service representatives to identify and implement appropriate solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, including major brands of commercial boilers and air conditioning systems. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems and components. Perform controls work, equipment start-up, and preventive maintenance. Inspect existing equipment and recommend efficient repairs, replacements, or system upgrades. Perform soldering and brazing. Use trade knowledge, logic, and reasoning to identify problems and determine effective solutions. Communicate with customers, team members, and factory service representatives regarding repairs and solutions. Accurately document services performed. Estimate labor time and material requirements for repairs and replacements. Maintain responsibility for company assets and equipment used at job sites. Complete all required paperwork accurately, neatly, and on time. Properly use and maintain tools and equipment required to complete service work. Perform additional service-related duties as needed. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience . Complete understanding of commercial HVAC equipment. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Experience with major brands of commercial HVAC boilers and/or air conditioning systems. Experience with soldering and brazing. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to accurately describe completed services in writing. Ability to estimate time and material requirements. Knowledge of HVAC service tools and equipment. Valid Connecticut HVAC license . Valid OSHA 10 card . Ability to work scheduled and on-call hours as required. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems is a plus. Experience working directly with factory service representatives is beneficial. Compensation & Benefits $45-$60 per hour , plus incentives and bonuses. Overtime opportunities.
