As a Field Service Technician at Swanson Flo, you will be a front-line representative working directly with industrial and municipal customers to evaluate, repair, assemble, and start up valves, actuators, and process control instrumentation — both at customer facilities and at our in-house repair locations. This is a technically demanding, customer-facing role that requires equal parts mechanical ability and people skills. You will diagnose problems, apply proper safety practices, and ensure every job is completed efficiently, on time, and to specification. If you have a strong background in process control equipment, a genuine interest in product technology, and the communication skills to build lasting customer relationships, this is a role worth exploring. What You'll Do Field Service and Repair Repair, assemble, and start up valves, electric and pneumatic actuators, and general process control instrumentation at customer facilities and at Swanson Flo in-house repair locations. Calibrate field instruments including level, pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters to specification. Troubleshoot process control equipment including valves, actuators, and instrumentation and complete repairs at the customer site or in-house as required. Ensure all customer equipment service is completed efficiently, on time, and correctly according to specifications. Assist with shop assembly needs as time and workload permit. Customer Diagnosis and Safety Diagnose customer problems using proper tools and equipment, following on-the-job safety practices throughout every engagement. Complete accurate job documentation for every service call, including findings, work performed, and recommendations. Obtain and maintain required safety certifications for customer site access. Travel to customer sites as needed, with the ability to travel up to a week at a time when required. Customer Relationship Management Serve as a direct, professional point of contact for customers during all service engagements — building trust and contributing to long-term customer satisfaction. Communicate clearly with customers on equipment status, repair options, and recommended next steps. Contribute actively to building strong, lasting customer relationships that reflect well on Swanson Flo and MCE.
