Job Responsibilities:
Perform on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at customer locations. Service mechanical, electrical, and minor automation-related components using diagnostic tools and technical documentation. Install, repair, and maintain packaging automation systems, ensuring maximum equipment uptime. Establish and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs for assigned customer accounts. Diagnose faults and replace or repair defective components safely and efficiently. Provide on-site training to customer maintenance teams on equipment operation and care. Assist with field testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of new products, prototypes, and custom equipment. Document service activity, complete work orders, submit reports, and maintain accurate service records. Perform software upgrades on WAT units and other equipment, ensuring proper configuration. Support senior technicians on complex installations, escalations, and large-scale service jobs. Follow direction from supervisors and management on additional field service tasks as needed. Travel to customer sites (approximately 30% overnight travel) to support service needs. Respond to emergency service calls and perform additional duties such as equipment audits and special projects.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical field (mechanical, electrical, electronics, or automation) preferred or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of electrical and electromechanical systems with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment. Basic mechanical skills, including disassembly and reassembly of equipment components. Experience with packaging automation systems preferred. Proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft Office, for reporting and documentation. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters). Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, wiring schematics, manuals, and assembly drawings. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical individuals. Ability to work independently and manage schedules in a field environment. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Ability to make real-time decisions and provide accurate technical assessments. Must maintain accurate records of all service activities performed. Must be able to travel frequently, including overnight travel (~30%). Valid driver's license (Real ID preferred) and/or passport required with a clean driving record. Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays as needed. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs., carry tools/parts up to 20 lbs., and move equipment using carts up to 60 lbs. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check and drug screening.
