Job Description
Roof Repair Technician (Commercial & Residential) Position Summary The Roof Repair Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and installing roofing systems on both commercial and residential properties. This position requires working safely at heights, identifying roofing issues, and performing quality repairs to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with company standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect residential and commercial roofing systems to identify leaks, damage, and maintenance needs. Perform repairs on various roofing materials, including asphalt shingles, metal roofing, tile, slate, TPO, EPDM, PVC, and modified bitumen systems. Remove damaged roofing materials and replace them with new materials according to manufacturer specifications. Locate and repair roof leaks, storm damage, flashing issues, and structural roofing defects. Install, repair, and replace flashing, vents, skylights, gutters, and drainage components. Conduct preventative maintenance and routine roof inspections. Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other roofing equipment safely and efficiently. Measure roofs and estimate material requirements for repair projects. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite at all times. Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Document completed work, inspections, and repair recommendations. Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding project status and repair needs. Respond to emergency roof repair calls when necessary. Load, unload, and transport roofing materials, equipment, and supplies. Assist with roof installations and reroofing projects as needed. Perform other related duties assigned by management. Qualifications Experience in commercial and/or residential roofing preferred. Knowledge of roofing materials, repair techniques, and construction methods. Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly. Basic understanding of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Frequent climbing, kneeling, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods. Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and rooftops safely. Ability to perform physically demanding work in hot, cold, windy, and wet weather conditions. Schedule Full-Time Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime, weekend work, and emergency response as required. Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
