Job Description

Job Summary The Town of Secretary is currently seeking full-time, non-exempt, Public Works Maintenance Employee who performs manual labor and technical tasks to construct, repair, and maintain local infrastructure such as roads, utilities, parks, and public buildings for the town of Secretary, Maryland.
Duties:
Facility & Building Upkeep
  • perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall repairs; change light fixtures and clear filters Grounds & Parks Maintenance
  • Mow/trim grass, trim trees, weed beds, pull litter, and repair playground equipment Infrastructure & Public Works
  • Clean storm drains, maintain street signs, patch asphalt, assist with garbage pick-up, and assist with water/sewer utility upkeep Emergency Response
  • Act as essential personnel for snow removal, salting roads, storm debris clean-up, and after hours emergency call Equipment Operation
  • Operate hand tool, power tools, mowers, chainsaws, and light-to-medium trucks or heavy machinery May oversee the work of others.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License (Maryland Class B Commercial Driver's License may be required) High School Diploma/GED Equivalent 0-3 years of general labor, landscaping, or building maintenance experience Pass a standard physical exam Pass a standard drug test Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Pay:
$25.00
  • $30.
00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
