About the Role As a Mobile Equipment Service Technician, you will serve as a critical technical expert responsible for maintaining and repairing complex heavy-duty machinery in the field. You will leverage your expertise in hydraulics and electrical systems to ensure operational uptime and safety for our clients' diverse fleets of lifting and material handling equipment. Responsibilities Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues on articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, and heavy-duty trailers to minimize equipment downtime. Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs and conduct annual DOT inspections to ensure full regulatory compliance. Provide rapid-response troubleshooting for emergency service calls, ensuring high-quality repairs that meet rigorous safety standards. Manage end-to-end service documentation, including work order updates, parts procurement, and accurate labor tracking. Coordinate effectively with fleet managers and job site supervisors to communicate repair status and technical requirements. Maintain a professional, organized mobile workspace and company vehicle to ensure efficiency and safety at every job site. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance, specifically with cranes or forklifts. Advanced proficiency in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting diagnostics. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 75+ lbs and working in diverse outdoor weather conditions. Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days of hire. Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting. Preferred Skills Prior experience with welding and structural equipment repair. Familiarity with OEM-specific diagnostic software and heavy machinery systems. Proven track record of managing independent field service routes and customer relationships.
