Job Description

Birchwood Construction Company is seeking an experienced, dependable, and self-motivated Service Technician to support BCC Continuum, our luxury property management division. This position is ideal for someone who has broad construction and maintenance knowledge and enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking ownership of their work. The Service Technician will perform general repairs and maintenance within our clients' homes while also helping identify potential issues before they become larger problems. This position involves working in high-end residences and interacting directly with homeowners, subcontractors, and vendors, professionalism, and strong communication skills are essential. Key Responsibilities Perform general residential repairs, maintenance, and handyman services across managed properties. Diagnose and troubleshoot common household maintenance issues. Complete minor carpentry, drywall, trim, hardware, door, cabinet, and finish repairs. Perform minor plumbing-related repairs such as faucets, toilets, drains, fixtures, and leak identification within the appropriate scope of work. Identify basic electrical, HVAC, plumbing, moisture, structural, and mechanical concerns and recognize when a licensed trade professional should be involved. Inspect homes for signs of leaks, water intrusion, deterioration, equipment failure, damage, or other developing maintenance concerns. Test and inspect common home features, fixtures, appliances, doors, windows, hardware, and mechanical components for proper operation. Assist with seasonal home preparation, exterior maintenance, furniture movement, installation/removal of seasonal items, and other property needs. Coordinate with the BCC Continuum team when specialized subcontractors or additional repairs are required. Clearly communicate findings, recommended repairs, and completed work to the property management team. Utilize current technology to accurately document property conditions and completed work, including detailed notes and photographs, as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area, particularly when working inside occupied or furnished homes. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all clients, their homes, property, personal lives, and any private information observed or learned while performing work. Treat every client's home and belongings with exceptional care and respect. Manage daily responsibilities independently and follow through on assigned work without requiring constant supervision. Qualifications Previous experience in residential construction, property maintenance, carpentry, handyman services, home inspection, or a related field. Strong working knowledge of residential homes, building components, and common maintenance issues. Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine an appropriate course of action. Skilled with common hand and power tools. Comfortable completing a broad variety of small repairs and maintenance projects. Ability to recognize when a repair requires a specialized or licensed contractor. Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with clients. Highly dependable, organized, and punctual. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and complete work independently. Comfortable entering and working within high-end private residences. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to safely lift, carry, climb ladders, and perform the physical duties associated with residential maintenance work."
