This role focuses on small diameter tubing operations including cut-off, end finishing, deburring, and end forming fabrication. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between production and maintenance, bringing both hands-on operating experience and strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate small diameter tubing cut-off equipment processing both coil-fed and straight length tube stock to specified cut lengths and tolerances Perform setups and changeovers on cut-off equipment for varying tube diameters, wall thicknesses, and material grades Operate end finishing and deburring equipment to achieve clean, burr-free tube ends meeting quality and customer specifications Set up and operate end forming fabrication equipment including flaring, swaging, beading, expanding, and reducing machinery as applicable Troubleshoot mechanical issues on production equipment and perform first-level repairs to minimize downtime Assist maintenance department with preventive maintenance tasks, lubrication, and component replacement Inspect machinery prior to startup; identify worn or damaged tooling, blades, dies, and other components and replace as needed Conduct in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments to verify cut length, end condition, wall concentricity, and formed dimensions Document setup parameters, downtime events, and repair activities in production and maintenance logs Communicate proactively with supervision and maintenance regarding equipment condition and upcoming repair needs Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as required (certification required) Adhere to all safety protocols including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and machine guarding procedures Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical training in mechanics, hydraulics, or industrial maintenance a plus Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a tube or metal parts manufacturing environment, with demonstrated experience in cut-off, end finishing, or end forming operations Familiarity with small diameter tubing processing from both coil and straight length stock Working knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, and tooling Ability to read blueprints, setup sheets, and work orders; experience with GD&T a plus Experience with hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop equipment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under time pressure Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as required Forklift and/or overhead crane certification preferred or willingness to obtain
