Job Description

Job Summary Condux Tesmec, located in Mankato, MN is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Service Technician to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this position are repairing equipment, providing technical support of products sold by Condux Tesmec as well as providing customer training on the operation of the equipment. Their work must be completed in a safe, professional, and timely manner. The Technician will travel up to 50% of the time to perform the required services. This individual must be able to perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible, travel to customer locations on short notice, work extra hours and weekends on occasion. Company The Company sells equipment for the installation of Overhead & Underground Transmission & Distribution Powerlines in US & Canada. We are a small local company, part of a worldwide group active in design, manufacturing and sales of products, technologies and integrated solutions for the construction, maintenance and efficiency of infrastructures related to the transport and distribution of energy, data and material. The product portfolio consists of stringing equipment: machines such as puller & puller-tensioner, reel stands, reel winders, pulling rope, blocks and tools. Duties Provide technical support to customers via phone and email. Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble, and service equipment in the field or our shop. Document machine information and repairs, including parts and fluids used. Maintain a clean work area, as well as care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment. Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities to their supervisor. Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment - both legacy and current products. Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook. Conduct self in the presence of customers and community to present a professional image of Condux Tesmec. Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set. Participate in all company driven communication efforts, logging customer visits in Salesforce, opening cases for repairs, department meetings and other related efforts. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service. Skills Graduate from related technology program preferred Excellent mechanical skills Must have a valid driver license and passport for entry into Canada Firm technical knowledge of blueprints, diagrams, mechanical engineering schematics and electrical diagrams Understand usage of trade-specific tooling, including hand and pneumatic tools Excellent customer service skills Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions on equipment Precise written communication abilities for filing repair, installation and maintenance reports Strong organizational skills Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary and employees benefit package including health and dental insurance, vision insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, and 401(k) retirement plan options.
