Job Description / Service Technician Responsibilities We are seeking an individual to join our team who is willing and excited to learn. This position is responsible for the certification, calibration, validation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of a wide range of laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: analytical and precision balances, biological safety cabinets (BSCs) and fume hoods (including decontamination services), centrifuges, thermometers, dry baths and water baths, data loggers, temperature mapping systems, pressure gauges, CO₂ sensors, plate readers, and other laboratory bench-top instruments. The technician will create reports, maintain calibration and certification documentation, troubleshoot equipment performance issues, and ensure all laboratory instruments remain in a state of compliance and operational readiness. This individual will diagnoses and repair each product using manufacturer-specific manuals and diagrams and may be responsible for transporting and handling high-value customer and/or company assets.

Responsibilities include:

Perform certification, calibration, and validation activities on laboratory equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures. Conduct temperature mapping, sensor verification, and performance testing of equipment and controlled environments. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory instruments using manufacturer documentation. Create, monitor, and document work orders within custom software systems. Partner with manufacturers to identify problems, assess issues, document findings, and determine appropriate repair or corrective actions. Make effective repairs to equipment in accordance with documented procedures. Provide additional technical assistance and support to customers for all contract manufacturers. Ensure certificate corrections and documentation updates are completed within specified time frames. Create, write, execute, and maintain protocols and documentation for equipment qualification and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), including reports and compliance records. Maintain accurate calibration, certification, and service documentation for all equipment serviced. Perform all duties in accordance with applicable safety guidelines and standard operating procedures. Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Desired Characteristics Associate's degree with a technical major or equivalent, related job experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and repair processes for all types of benchtop laboratory instruments. Interest or experience in calibration, certification, validation, and regulatory compliance practices. Experience with developing, reviewing, and executing validation protocols. Required Skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while working independently or in a team environment. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines. Proficiency in using electronic test instruments such as multimeters, temperature and humidity probes, pressure gauges, and related tools. Basic electronic and mechanical knowledge preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Exceptional organizational skills, time management, and punctuality. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and the ability to learn custom databases and software applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of customer service professionalism.
