This position ensures customer equipment is repaired efficiently, tested for proper operation, and returned in excellent working condition while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe repair shop.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, and plumbing issues on commercial coffee equipment. Repair, rebuild, and refurbish coffee brewers, espresso machines, grinders, hot water systems, and related equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on customer-owned and company-owned equipment. Inspect incoming equipment to identify repair needs and prepare repair estimates when required. Test all equipment after repair to ensure proper operation, calibration, and brewing performance. Maintain accurate repair records, parts usage, labor hours, and service documentation. Assist in preparing new equipment for customer installation, including assembly, programming, and quality inspections. Maintain adequate inventory of repair parts, tools, and shop supplies. Keep the repair shop clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards. Assist field technicians by preparing equipment, staging parts, and providing technical support when needed. Communicate equipment status and repair recommendations to the Service Manager. Participate in ongoing technical training and manufacturer certification programs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience repairing commercial coffee equipment, foodservice equipment, or related electromechanical systems preferred. Working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, pumps, motors, heating elements, solenoids, valves, and control systems. Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service documentation. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic computer skills for documenting repairs and managing work orders. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Frequently stand, bend, kneel, and work at repair benches.
