We serve municipalities, utilities, contractors, industrial facilities, and commercial customers throughout Tennessee and surrounding markets. We are seeking a highly skilled Electro-Mechanical Service Lead Technician with a focus on Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor controls, troubleshooting, startup, and mechanical field service. Position Summary The Electrical Service Lead Technician will be the primary field expert for installation, startup, diagnostics, repair, and service of VFD systems and industrial electrical controls. This role will lead electrical jobs in the field, train support technicians, and serve as a trusted technical resource for customers. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on industrial electrical experience, advanced troubleshooting skills, and mechanical process background. Key ResponsibilitiesVFD Installation & Startup Install, wire, program, and commission VFD systems up to 1000 HP Perform startup, testing, and operational verification Configure parameters for pumps, motors, fans, boosters, and process equipment Interpret manuals, schematics, and drive programming requirements Diagnostics & Repair Troubleshoot faults, nuisance trips, communication issues, harmonics, overheating, grounding, and motor performance concerns Diagnose issues with existing VFDs including ABB, Xylem Aquavar, Eaton, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and similar systems Repair or recommend replacement solutions Troubleshoot motors, starters, overloads, disconnects, PLC interface signals, sensors, floats, pressure transducers, and related controls Electrical Controls Install and service: MCC buckets Soft starters Pump control panels Level controls Pressure systems SCADA interface components Relays / contactors / overloads Industrial instrumentation devices Mechanical Lead field jobs and coordinate crews when needed Laser Alignment Maintain job documentation and service reports Support quoting team with technical findings and recommendations Maintain high safety and workmanship standards QualificationsRequired Experience 5+ years industrial electrical service experience Proven experience with VFD startup, programming, and diagnostics Experience reading one-line diagrams, schematics, ladder logic, and panel layouts Strong troubleshooting ability on 3-phase power systems and motor controls Preferred Experience Experience with pumps, lift stations, water/wastewater systems, booster stations, HVAC drives, or manufacturing systems OEM drive certifications or factory training Skills Strong communication with customers and internal team Organized and professional Able to work independently in the field Comfortable making real-time technical decisions Physical Requirements Lift tools/materials as needed Work in industrial plants, lift stations, rooftops, basements, pump stations, outdoors, and confined spaces as permitted Drive service vehicle and travel regionally Compensation $30.00-$40.00 per hour Bonus Structure Profit-sharing bonus opportunity for major projects completed successfully Benefits Phone / tablet PTO Training and certification support
