We want someone who wants to build something. Who you are You're the tech who notices when a strut is a quarter inch off or a panel has a scuff, and you can't leave it that way. You love figuring out why something isn't working, breaking the problem down, and fixing it right the first time. But you also know the customer judges the finished product by how it looks , so you care about clean lines, tidy work areas, and the small cosmetic details other techs skip. You present yourself well, you're comfortable talking to homeowners and business owners, and you have a bit of a competitive streak. Maybe you like being outdoors, hiking, or pushing yourself. What you'll do Diagnose and repair residential and commercial garage doors and operators Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on commercial doors for our business clients Service and repair rolling steel, sheet doors, and sectional doors Repair and occasionally replace light-duty dock levelers (Pioneer) Install custom residential doors (Amarr, CHI, Clopay, Safeway) as part of a two-person install team Handle commercial door replacements and part swaps (we do not do new construction) When commercial work is slow, get out in the community: visit local businesses, introduce TyGrig, drop off business cards, and build relationships that turn into service accounts Represent TyGrig's standards on every job, every time What you bring Hands-on experience with residential and commercial garage door repair and installation (required, and recent: we'll sharpen your skills, not reteach the basics) Experience with dock levelers is a strong plus Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability Extreme attention to detail and pride in your work Professional appearance and good communication skills Valid driver's license Physical ability to lift heavy objects and do whatever the job calls for (if you're a door guy, you already know what that means) Must pass a drug screen and background check Past military service or first responder experience is always a plus.
