A Precision or Fine Instrument Repairer makes, calibrates, repairs, maintains, adjusts and installs mechanical watches and clocks, and nautical, meteorological, optical and other precision instruments and equipment, and sets them for correct performance.
Our car dealership team is rapidly expanding, and we are currently looking for a new automotive technician to join our service center. The ideal candidate will be eager to diagnose and facilitate automotive repairs using our automotive computer software and their electrical systems expertise. Compensation:
$25 - $45 hourly
Responsibilities:
Explain automotive systems issues to customers to ensure a clear, transparent repair process Operate diagnostic equipment to accurately determine the cause of malfunction codes with the vehicle's integrated computer system When needed, conduct routine maintenance such as checking fluids, rotating tires, replacing brake pads, and oil changes Adhere to manufacturer specifications to maintain vehicle systems and ensure customer satisfaction Help establish service protocols for tracking the status of repairs, maintaining relevant technical manuals, using charts, and more for all of our dealerships Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements Diagnose and repair issues with vehicles Inspect and test automotive electrical systems for faults and malfunctions Replace worn or damaged parts, such as shocks, struts, and suspension components Perform scheduled vehicle maintenance services according to manufacturer guidelines Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required Excellent customer service and communications skills are necessary Automotive service technology training program completion or equivalent years of experience is required; associates degree is a bonus National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, or ASE certification is strongly desired Experience level: 3 years Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or similar role Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive systems Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing vehicles Familiarity with automotive electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques; ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to customers Strong willingness to work with others in a positive way About Company Street Volkswagen of Amarillo is the only Volkswagen dealership in Amarillo.
