We are seeking an experienced Optical Technician to join a busy eye-care practice. The ideal candidate will have previous optical/ophthalmic experience and be comfortable working directly with patients while assisting with the clinical and optical needs of the practice.

Job Duties:

Assist doctors with patient examinations and pre-testing Perform and document preliminary testing and measurements Take patient histories and accurately enter information into the computer system Assist with visual acuity testing and other diagnostic procedures Perform OCT, retinal imaging, visual fields, and other testing as needed Prepare patients for examinations and explain testing procedures Assist with contact lens fittings, training, and follow-up Take accurate measurements for eyeglasses and assist with frame/lens selection Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and optical products Assist with dispensing glasses and ensuring proper fit and adjustments Maintain accurate patient records Keep equipment and examination areas clean and organized Provide excellent patient service in a fast-paced medical environment Assist the doctor and office staff with additional duties as needed

Qualifications:

Previous optical or ophthalmic technician experience required Experience with pre-testing and diagnostic equipment Knowledge of basic eye-care terminology and procedures Strong computer and documentation skills Excellent attention to detail Professional, friendly, and patient-focused personality Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team

Ideal Candidate:

Someone who already understands the flow of an eye-care practice and can step into an Optical Technician role with minimal training.

From $15.00 per hour
