Job Description

Company Information Belshaw has proudly served the baking industry from the Pacific Northwest for 100 years . Belshaw Adamatic Bakery Group manufactures premium donut and bakery equipment in a 85,000 square foot facility in Auburn, WA, 20 miles south of Seattle. We supply all scales of retail and industrial equipment to an international customer base. Belshaw is part of a family owned, global group of world class food equipment manufacturing companies. Our company culture is team oriented, while cultivating individual strengths and the spirit of initiative. We are in need of a solution focused Service Technician to join our diverse and collaborative team.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday. Weekend on call rotation. Must be available for overtime and travel on the weekend, if necessary.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Service Technician's primary role is to provide customers with professional technical service and support by answering troubleshooting calls and emails in a timely manner, performing field service installation, startup, diagnosis, repairs and preventive maintenance of various bakery equipment. They are responsible for ensuring that all work is completed, and calls/emails are handled in a timely, efficient and professional manner. The Service Technician shall ensure proper and accurate data is recorded, reports are completed, and warranty terms are maintained, within an organized service system.
Job Duties:
Install, calibrate, configure, test, maintain, evaluate, troubleshoot, pre-commission, commission and train on equipment as necessary. Provide expertise at customer site from pre-installation assistance to final testing and commissioning. Provide on-site training of customer personnel on proper operation and maintenance per established company standards. Record details of activities and complete service reports. Build customer relationships in a professional manner through solution-oriented communications and service, providing both on-site and telephone/email support. Maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanor while working with customers, vendors, contractors or colleagues on site. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures at all times. Ensure all materials, tools and equipment provided by the company, are kept safe/secure and ensure all necessary tools are calibrated and in good working condition. Feed information back to Technical Service Manager regarding recommended spare parts and wear parts for existing and new customers. Feed information back to Technical Service Manager regarding opportunities for process improvements in the technical service department. Feed information back to the Engineering department regarding design issues and opportunities for improvement. Self-develop to maintain expertise in technical product specifications and keep up-to-date with new company products. Deliver excellent customer support by assuring customer requests are handled in a timely manner and communicate any misses or potential issues to Technical Service Manager promptly. Availability to be on call over weekends and holidays at pre-determined schedule.
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude Familiar with using electrical measuring devices such as multimeters and amp meters to measure AC/DC voltage, amperage and resistance Self-motivated with the ability to work and think independently Strong time management and organization skills Ability to read and review mechanical and electrical blueprints, plans, specifications and other documentation required to prepare for startup or service Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Calm demeanor even under pressure Active listening skills and patience Ability to foster and promote a positive work environment Ability to multi-task Strong analytical skills Ability to derive creative solutions to resolve complex problems Continuous improvement mindset and approach, readily ask questions if you don't know Strong sense of ownership and solution focus Qualifications and Requirements Minimum 3 years' experience in technical field service role in similar environment Maintain a valid passport and driver's license and any other documentation required for travel Ability and willingness to travel with little notice Experience with using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Excellent ability with computer and smartphone and required software Physical Requirements /
Working Conditions:
Travel (50% to 75%) Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and body movements to lift, bend, stoop, walk, and squat. Hand and eye coordination is required to assure job performance is carried out in the most efficient and safe manner.
