A Broadband Technician works both inside and outside of a residential or business customer's building to install, change, repair and disconnect broadband services including data, digital TV and voice services. Troubleshoots at time of installation and returns at scheduled time if technical issues arise. Educates customers about ordered services.

- Job Description
- This position carries out those activities required to maintain and correct damage and make repairs to physical buildings, structures, and facilities as well maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and cleaning equipment of assigned facilities.
- Responsibilities
- + Works with a variety of skilled trades and/or skill sets in all aspects of Facilities Maintenance to include but not limited to, modular furniture, interior partition walls, suspended ceilings, doors and door hardware, cabinets and counters.
- Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements
- + High school diploma or GED equivalent. + Three (3) years of directly related facilities and/or building maintenance experience. + A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
- Preferred Qualifications
- + Commercial HVAC experience.
- Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather:
Indoor/Outdoor - occasional exposure to harsh weather conditions; requires work to be done both inside and outside.Noise level:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.Description of environment:
Office building with standard office environment.Physical requirements:
Employee is required to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.Travel:
Employee may travel up to 50% of the time throughout Alaska and/or remote locations and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes and ATVs.- Competencies
