Are you a hands-on technology professional with experience supporting VoIP phone systems, telecommunications equipment, and voice communication solutions? We're seeking a Voice Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced communication systems while providing exceptional technical support and customer service. Voice Technician Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Trade school certification, technical training, or an Associate degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Voice Technician Experience Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience with VoIP phone systems, telecommunications, or voice communication technologies. Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting IP-based phone systems. Experience supporting platforms such as Microsoft Teams Voice, 3CX, RingCentral, Zoom Phone, or similar systems is preferred. Experience with low-voltage systems, security systems, or structured cabling preferred. Experience reading schematics, technical documents, and installation instructions. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Customer service experience in a technical environment preferred. Voice Technician Job Duties Install, configure, and test VoIP phone systems, paging systems, and telecommunications equipment. Program and maintain IP phones, voicemail systems, extensions, auto attendants, and call routing features. Perform system inspections, preventative maintenance, and equipment testing. Troubleshoot voice, network, and telecommunications issues. Diagnose technical problems and implement effective solutions. Provide technical support and customer service to clients. Train customers on system operation, features, and functionality. Maintain accurate installation, service, and inventory records. Review schematics, job files, and technical documentation. Communicate project updates and progress with team members and project managers. Complete installations and service calls safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to complete technical work. Voice Technician Physical Capabilities Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Ability to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in various positions. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and electronic testing equipment. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection. Ability to travel to customer locations and complete field service work as needed. Ability to work in various commercial and technical environments.
