This is an experienced-level position requiring 5-7 years of hands-on experience working with business telephone systems . We are looking for someone with a strong telecommunications foundation who understands how telephone systems work, can evaluate existing environments, troubleshoot issues, and confidently participate in system installations, migrations, upgrades, and ongoing support. Structured cabling experience alone does not meet the experience requirements for this position. Applicants must have hands-on business telephony system experience. Responsibilities Install, configure, program, maintain, and troubleshoot business telephone systems. Support premise-based, VoIP, and cloud-based telephony environments. Configure and troubleshoot phones, extensions, DIDs, voicemail, call routing, auto attendants, hunt groups, ring groups, and call queues. Provision and deploy IP phones and related telecommunications equipment. Perform moves, adds, and changes to existing customer telephone systems. Diagnose telecommunications issues involving system configuration, endpoints, connectivity, carrier services, and related components. Participate in new system installations, migrations, cutovers, upgrades, and first-day support. Work with SIP/SIP trunking, analog services and devices, and other telecommunications carrier services as required. Coordinate with customers, internal technical teams, Project Managers, vendors, and carriers to resolve issues and complete projects. Document system changes, configurations, troubleshooting results, and work performed. Provide both onsite and remote telecommunications support. Maintain professional communication and provide quality customer service while working in customer environments. Required Qualifications 5-7 years of hands-on experience installing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting business telephone systems. Strong understanding of business telephony, VoIP, and IP-based telephone systems. Working knowledge of common telecommunications concepts, including extensions, DIDs, call routing, dial plans, voicemail, auto attendants, hunt groups, call queues, and number porting. Ability to independently troubleshoot telecommunications problems and determine appropriate next steps. Experience supporting commercial or enterprise customer environments. Ability to read and understand system documentation, diagrams, and technical information. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong customer-facing communication skills and a professional approach to customer service. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other technical resources. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass customer-required background checks, including fingerprinting when required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the following platforms and technologies is strongly preferred: Mitel MiVoice Business Mitel MiVoice Connect / ShoreTel NEC RingCentral Zoom Phone Microsoft Teams Phone SIP and SIP trunking Analog telephony and related devices PRI/T1 or traditional carrier services E911 and emergency calling solutions Paging and integrated communications systems Multi-site telecommunications environments Healthcare, education, municipal, or other commercial customer environments Experience with every listed platform is not required . We are looking for someone with a strong telecommunications foundation who can apply that experience across different systems and technologies. Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work hours may vary based on project schedules, customer requirements, system cutovers, and service needs. Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned service area will be required. Pay:
