Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - AAC, Communication & Independent Living Skills Kindred Communication Kindred Communication is seeking a compassionate, reliable Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who is and has experience supporting autistic and neurodivergent young adults. This position focuses heavily on functional communication, AAC, independent living skills, community integration, and mentorship . The ideal candidate understands that communication is at the center of independence and is comfortable supporting individuals who may communicate through speech, AAC devices, communication apps, letterboards, gestures, or other forms of communication. We are looking for someone who is patient, encouraging, dependable, and passionate about helping individuals build stronger communication skills, greater independence, confidence, and meaningful relationships. Responsibilities Support clients in developing functional communication skills across home and community settings Support and encourage the use of AAC devices and other communication systems Model communication and create natural opportunities for clients to express wants, needs, choices, opinions, and ideas Help clients build communication skills needed for self-advocacy, independence, social interaction, and community safety Support clients with daily living skills such as cooking, shopping, transportation, hygiene, organization, and money management Participate in community outings and real-world learning opportunities Help clients practice social communication and develop meaningful relationships Provide positive mentorship while encouraging autonomy and self-determination Implement individualized behavioral, communication, and independent living goals Track client progress and provide clear session documentation Collaborate with BCBAs, SLPs, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary team Support sensory regulation and occupational-type activities as appropriate Implement ABA strategies while maintaining a communication-centered, person-centered approach Promote independence rather than completing tasks for the client Qualifications Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
Experience Pay:
$50.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 - 10.0 per week
