We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join a fast-paced technical services team. Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Connecticut-based (New Haven area) Field Service Technician to install, wire, calibrate, analyze, troubleshoot, and maintain our enforcement and surveillance equipment in the field. You will also document, install, upgrade, or replace hardware and software systems as needed. You will travel independently to cities, where you will work either independently or with subcontractor partners to install and maintain red light camera and speed enforcement systems in the field. The technician for this position will be traveling to client sites primarily in Connecticut, with the possibility of travel to other US states.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic low-voltage electrical work, wiring, and troubleshooting of electrical and data communication connectivity. Install digital camera systems, radars, and wireless communications on existing street poles. Configuration and tuning of red-light camera and speed enforcement systems in the field. Ensure new installs and routine maintenance deadlines are met. Support and troubleshoot installed camera equipment in the field. Be able to diagnose and offer repair instructions remotely, as well as in person. Plan and manage maintenance routines/schedules. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair our product line. Respond to troubleshooting calls and e-mails from NovoaGlobal users and our clients. Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, assignments, and service reports. Effectively communicate with customers and subcontractors in the field. Conduct site surveys for new camera sites. Effectively prioritize, plan, and manage time. The individual may be required to testify in a court of law that the equipment was correctly set up and tested, and that the results of the tests were accurately recorded. 25% traveling nationwide and internationally is a possibility. Any other duties and/or responsibilities assigned to get the job done. Personal vehicle required for all client site service work with mileage reimbursement at current Gov rates. Your vehicle must be able to hold a ladder, tools, and system equipment. Pay range is $28 -$32 per hour (40-hour week, Monday-Friday). Full background check and drug test required upon hire. Candidate must possess the following attributes: 2-year Associate degree in networking and computers or similar working experience. 2-year or more technical field work experience. English language required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Multi-tasking skills. Windows and Mac OS. Microsoft word, excel. Wireless and Cat5/Cat6. Basic firewall/router configuration. IP address configuration (IP, Subnet, Gateway, DNS, etc). Basic Linux knowledge. Basic camera knowledge (shutter, aperture, ISO, focus, etc). IP video camera knowledge (setup and configuration). Low voltage knowledge (Basic). Be able to troubleshoot equipment. Problem solver, team player, and self-motivated individual.
