We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Field Technician to join our Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. In this hands-on role, you will be the face of our company at client sites — delivering, installing, and maintaining IT and low-voltage infrastructure for a diverse portfolio of business clients. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure our clients' technology environments are reliable, well-configured, and professionally installed. This is a physical, field-based role that requires someone who is comfortable working in a variety of environments — from office buildings to warehouse facilities. Key Responsibilities Installation & Deployment Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic runs Mount and configure networking equipment including switches, routers, wireless access points, and patch panels Deploy and configure end-user devices including desktops, laptops, VoIP phones, and peripherals Install and dress server rack equipment, cable management, and associated hardware Run conduit and cable pathways per client specifications and building codes Client Site Support Serve as the primary on-site technical resource for client visits, installations, and service calls Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, hardware, and cabling issues on-site Perform scheduled preventive maintenance visits across the client base Communicate professionally with client staff and stakeholders throughout all engagements Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or remote support staff as needed Documentation & Compliance Complete and submit accurate work orders, site surveys, and installation records Label all cabling, ports, and equipment in accordance with company standards Adhere to all workplace health, safety, and site access requirements Follow client security and access procedures at all times Qualifications & Experience Required 1+ years of hands-on experience in a field technician, low-voltage installer, or IT support role Demonstrated experience running and terminating structured cabling (Cat6, fiber) Practical knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, wireless) Experience installing and configuring common networking hardware (Cisco, Meraki, Ubiquiti, or similar) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs unassisted Comfortable working at heights using ladders and lift equipment Preferred CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, or equivalent industry certification BICSI installer certification or low-voltage cabling certification Experience with MSP tools and ticketing platforms (ConnectWise, Autotask, or similar) Familiarity with cloud-managed networking platforms (Meraki, Ubiquiti UniFi, etc.) OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training
