Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our team and drive excellence in telecommunications and low-voltage electrical systems. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of low-voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic networks, structured cabling, VoIP telephony, and data communication systems. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation of critical communication infrastructure for diverse clients. Responsibilities Install, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems such as CCTV surveillance, fiber optic cabling, structured wiring, Ethernet networks, and telecommunication systems. Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic system installation to ensure high-quality data transmission. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs. Conduct network wiring, cable termination (including Cat5, Cat6), and equipment setup for LANs (Local Area Networks) and telecommunications systems. Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, telecommunication testing equipment, and RF testers to identify issues and perform repairs efficiently. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, repairs, and maintenance activities for client records. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system status, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance procedures. Skills Extensive knowledge of CCTV systems installation and troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency in computer networking including Ethernet cabling, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and network configuration. Experience with fiber splicing, fiber optic system installation, and testing. Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical wiring standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code). Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and telecommunication equipment safely and effectively. Familiarity with VoIP telephony systems like Avaya or similar platforms. Skilled in reading schematics and technical diagrams related to structured cabling and telecommunications infrastructure. Knowledge of radio frequency (RF) testing methods for wireless communication systems. Experience with network installation in data centers or large enterprise environments. Capable of troubleshooting equipment issues using diagnostic tools to minimize downtime. Good customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
