A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Telecom Technician A/Z Corporation $30.00 - $40.00 Hourly United States, Massachusetts, Marlborough Sep 02, 2026

Description Position Summary:

The Telecom Technician will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of telecommunication systems and associated processes.

Role and Responsibilities:

Regular attendance at assigned location that may include office or other project sites

Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients

Installs cable supports, through floor and wall sleeves, fire stopping materials

Install relays, cabinets, network switches

Terminates data, voice, coaxial, control, and fiber optic cables

Install cable trays above and below floors

Ability to work in small spaces

Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards with cable analyzer and fiber test equipment

Qualifications Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Follow plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers

Strict adherence to all safety rules and quality

Participate in site housekeeping

Interact with all co-workers and clients in an attentive courteous manner

Perform additional duties as directed by Management

At times may perform clerical/administrative duties

Educational & Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or relevant work experience

2-5 years of field experience, trade school, or apprenticeship
