A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Our Hackensack, NJ showroom and service center provides high end solutions for media rooms, integrated home automation, computer networking, motorized window shading, video surveillance security, access control and communication systems. It is the center of operations and dispatch for our installation technicians. We have one full time positions available for a technician with 3 years minimum experience. Possibility for part time as well.
Wiring Skills and Experience:
Low Voltage Pre-Wiring for A/V, networking, Intercom, access control and surveillance systems. Cat6 wiring, coax and multi conductor low voltage cable wiring. Wire terminations for Cat6 RJ45 connectors, Keystone jacks and patch panels Fiber Optic cable running and termination a plus Low Voltage box installation and configuration
Commercial Projects:
Video Surveillance Systems IP Video Intercom Systems Access Control Restaurant and Bar TV and Music System Residential Projects:
Front Projection Home Theater System installation. Flat screen TV installation. Multi-Room/Multi-Zone AV System installation, calibration and troubleshooting. Existing A/V system service and modification Rack Building, Equipment component wiring and configuration Participate in home theater seating and acoustic panels deliveries and installation. Control System Installation and Programming (optional) Control 4 system wiring, installation, and programing URC MX series and Total Control custom programming. Lutron Radio Ra 3 lighting controls and shade installation. Network Systems Installation Basic computer networking for router, switch and wireless access point setup. Cat6 Cable terminations IOT Device set up and configuration
  • General Skills Technical literacy: must be able to read a wiring diagram, architectural blueprint and/or schematic drawing.
OSHA 10 / 30
Training a plus. Good customer service skills. Must be able to provide detailed reports of all tasks completed. Must be able to follow exact instructions. Must communicate clearly enough to be understood by contractors, clients and co-workers. Punctual, organized, clean and neat nature Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
