A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.
This position supervises independent technicians in the field using a company provided vehicle.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for and knowledgeable in the correct, safe, and efficient locating of underground utilities including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water and sewer systems Adept at supervising and instructing technicians in thoroughly searching for underground utilities in a designated area, properly marking the location, completing the necessary paperwork, and photographing each locate Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and using a company provided laptop and/or tablet to document services and problems Experienced at working directly with customers and resolving problems in a professional manner Enthusiastic, self-motivated, safety conscious, and independent
Requirements:
Experience with various brands of locating equipment. Working experience of underground construction and fiber builds. City, County and State clearance code knowledge and related. Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather and work overtime as required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language is required All applicants must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen. Salary Range:
