Clean Background - Perform civil/site construction for government/private communications and surveillance tower installations, including site preparation, excavation/trenching, conduit placement, grounding and minor concrete pad/foundation work . Assist with erection and installation of approximately 30-60 ft self-supporting or similar communications/surveillance towers . Climb towers and install antennas, surveillance cameras, mounts, brackets and associated communications equipment . Install, route, secure, weatherproof and terminate coaxial/RF cable , control cable and other communications cabling. Install microwave/radio antennas and associated communications equipment used to transmit surveillance data from remote sites. Install and dress cabling from tower-mounted equipment to ground-level equipment cabinets, shelters or communications enclosures. Perform grounding and bonding of towers, equipment, cable and associated infrastructure. Assist with electrical conduit, equipment pads, cabinets, shelters and other supporting site infrastructure. Perform antenna/radio alignment, equipment installation, troubleshooting and basic system testing. Read construction drawings, site plans, cable schedules and installation specifications. Document completed installations, including photographs, equipment/serial-number records and cable/equipment locations. Work at remote government/security sites and travel extensively between project locations. Follow OSHA tower-climbing/fall-protection requirements and customer/government site-security procedures. The important recruiting distinction I would look for the experienced cellular civil and tower techs. And I'd also target people coming from RVSS, border surveillance, public-safety communications, LMR, microwave, DAS, security/ITS, military communications and small-cell/tower construction . Mission Critical Solutions, supporting a DHS U.S. Border Patrol RVSS deployment , its tower crews perform site prep/excavation, foundations/concrete, tower erection, antenna systems and microwave work.
