Duties Install and configure telecommunication equipment including Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, and telephony systems to ensure optimal network performance. Perform fiber splicing and cabling to establish reliable high-speed data connections across various sites. Use hand tools such as wire crimpers, wire strippers, and low voltage testers to prepare and connect cables accurately. Conduct equipment testing with ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools to identify and resolve network issues swiftly. Troubleshoot and repair network infrastructure problems in the field, providing prompt service technician support to minimize downtime. Maintain detailed documentation of installation procedures, testing results, and service reports for quality assurance. Collaborate with team members on field service projects involving electrical work, mechanical knowledge, and telecommunication systems. Skills Proven experience in network installation, fiber splicing, and working as a telecommunications infrastructure technician. Strong knowledge of computer networking principles including Ethernet, low voltage wiring, and telephony systems. Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and other networking hardware. Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, wire crimpers, and equipment testers for precise cable management. Ability to interpret technical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues using tools like ohmmeters and electrical testers. Effective communication skills to coordinate with clients and team members during field service operations.
