Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic telecommunications and electrical services team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial environments. Your expertise will ensure the reliable operation of communication networks, security systems, and data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, network cabling, and telecommunication equipment, contributing to the seamless operation of our clients' critical systems. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic networks, structured cabling, and telecommunication wiring. Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic system installation to ensure optimal data transmission. Configure and troubleshoot network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Ethernet switches. Conduct diagnostic testing using specialized tools to identify faults in communication and electrical systems. Terminate cables including Cat5, Cat6, and other structured cabling components with precision. Install and maintain telephony systems such as VoIP platforms and traditional telephony infrastructure. Perform equipment repairs and maintenance on telecommunications hardware using hand tools and power tools. Conduct RF testing for radio frequency communication systems to verify signal integrity. Assist with the installation of computer hardware, network wiring, and communication system components. Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to facilitate accurate system installation and troubleshooting. Ensure compliance with safety standards when working with AC/DC electrical systems and low-voltage wiring. Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions and resolving issues efficiently. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for project records and future reference. Experience Proven experience in field service roles involving low voltage electrical systems, telecommunications, or network installation. Must have experience in Epson BrightLink Projector Systems Strong knowledge of structured cabling standards (Cat5, Cat6), fiber optic systems, and telecommunications testing equipment. Familiarity with network protocols such as Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, VoIP configurations, and LAN/WAN architectures. Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters. Knowledge of Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and other communication hardware is highly desirable. Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately. Experience working with power tools, hand tools, and safety equipment in various installation environments. Excellent customer service skills combined with technical proficiency to support diverse client needs.
