Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fiber Splicer to join our dynamic telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fiber optic systems that form the backbone of modern communication networks. Your expertise will ensure the reliable delivery of high-speed internet, telephony, and data services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Duties Perform fiber optic cable splicing, termination, and testing to ensure optimal signal quality and network performance Install telecommunications cables and fiber optic systems in outdoor environments, including underground and aerial setups using heavy equipment and bucket trucks Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans to accurately execute projects Use diagnostic tools and telecommunications testing equipment to troubleshoot network issues and verify system integrity Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and other cabling machinery safely following the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards Conduct telecommunications outside plant operations including cable pulling, trenching, and conduit installation Support technical troubleshooting efforts for fiber optic networks and assist with IT infrastructure integration involving LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, and telephony systems Requirements Proven experience in field service roles involving outdoor work environments with fiber optic systems installation or maintenance Strong knowledge of telecommunications cable splicing, fiber optic cables, and network infrastructure components Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely and efficiently Proficiency with diagnostic tools including voltmeters, testing equipment for fiber optics, and computer networking devices Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and engineering troubleshooting procedures Hands-on experience with telecommunications testing equipment, low voltage wiring, cabling techniques, and power tools Excellent climbing skills for outdoor installations on poles or structures; comfortable working at heights with safety adherence Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards for outdoor utility work Strong understanding of telecommunication systems including fiber optic networks, telephony, Ethernet LANs, WANs, and IT infrastructure support Ability to perform low voltage wiring tasks accurately while adhering to safety protocols Join our team to be part of a fast-paced environment where your skills directly impact connectivity solutions that empower communities.
