A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.
Job Summary We are looking for an experienced OSP Fielder to support Outside Plant (OSP) fiber projects. The candidate will be responsible for field data collection, site verification, documentation, and coordination with engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely project delivery. Key Responsibilities Conduct field surveys and collect accurate OSP/fiber network data. Perform site walks and verify existing poles, routes, fiber facilities, utilities, and other field conditions. Capture GPS coordinates, measurements, photos, and field notes. Identify potential construction issues and provide accurate field information to the engineering team. Review and verify proposed fiber routes against actual field conditions. Coordinate with OSP engineers, project managers, and field/construction teams. Maintain accurate field documentation and submit reports within project timelines. Ensure all field data meets project and client quality standards. Travel locally to assigned project areas as required. Required Qualifications Experience in OSP/Fiber Optic telecommunications field work. Knowledge of fiber routes, poles, aerial/underground construction, and telecom infrastructure. Ability to read and understand OSP engineering drawings and maps. Experience using GPS, mobile field applications, or GIS tools is preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify field discrepancies. Good communication and reporting skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the assigned area. Preferred Experience Experience working on projects for AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Lumen, Ziply Fiber, Google Fiber , or similar telecom providers. Experience with OSP engineering, fiber design, or field verification. Familiarity with QGIS, IQGeo, Google Earth, or similar mapping tools.
