A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Onsite Job Description
2 days in office/week, depending on field requirements for outages and break-fix
Position will involve a significant amount of driving in the field
Targeted Years of Experience:
5-7 years
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the installation, monitoring, testing of telecommunications and associated transport equipment per specifications and operational procedures
- Performs testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment according to published equipment standards to include Physical Layer and Logical Layer platforms
- Maps, grow, and/or tests transmission equipment FlashWave, Nortel Classic, Digital Cross Connect, etc.
- Map routers, bridges, multiplexers, concentrators, etc.
- Create or perform migrations to new and existing Carriers such as PVC/EVC;s on Various routers; utilizes remote test systems to isolate and resolve continuity problems
- Coordinates the test and turn up of service with all involved providers until the customer
