[Mid Atlantic / Regional Travel] Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Technology Deployment Technician to support the installation, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of technology systems at customer locations. This is a hands-on, field-based position responsible for deploying a wide variety of technology, including PCs, servers, point-of-sale (POS) equipment, printers, time clocks, televisions and displays, paging systems, network-related equipment, and low-voltage cabling. The ideal candidate is technically capable, mechanically inclined, comfortable working in customer environments, and able to complete installations professionally and efficiently. This position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a deployment team. Key Responsibilities Technology Deployment & Installation Install, configure, replace, and troubleshoot desktop PCs, workstations, monitors, and related peripherals. Install and deploy servers and associated hardware under established project specifications. Install and configure POS systems, including terminals, peripherals, receipt printers, scanners, and related equipment. Install network and local printers and verify proper connectivity and operation. Install and configure employee time clocks and related hardware. Install televisions, commercial displays, digital signage equipment, and associated mounting hardware. Install and support paging and audio systems. Perform technology refreshes, equipment replacements, relocations, and new-site deployments. Remove and properly organize or dispose of replaced equipment as directed. Low-Voltage & Infrastructure Install and route low-voltage cabling for data, voice, audio, and other technology systems. Terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot network cabling. Install patch cables and make necessary connections between field equipment and network infrastructure. Maintain clean, organized, and professional cable management. Follow applicable safety requirements and customer/site standards when performing installations. Troubleshooting & Project Execution Diagnose hardware, cabling, connectivity, and peripheral issues during installations. Follow deployment documentation, floor plans, equipment lists, and scopes of work. Verify equipment functionality before completing an installation. Escalate technical issues appropriately when they cannot be resolved in the field. Document completed work, equipment installed, serial numbers, issues encountered, and project status. Communicate project progress and potential delays to supervisors or project management. Complete assigned deployments within established schedules and quality expectations. Customer Service Represent the company professionally while working at customer locations. Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, site contacts, project managers, and other technicians. Minimize disruption to customer operations while performing installations. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the deployment. Provide customers with basic information regarding newly installed equipment when required. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Basic understanding of computer hardware and common IT peripherals. Ability to install, connect, and troubleshoot technology equipment. Basic understanding of Ethernet networking and low-voltage cabling. Ability to use common hand and power tools safely. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Professional communication and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to customer locations. Ability to work flexible hours when deployments require evenings, early mornings, or weekends. Preferred Previous experience with technology deployments, field services, structured cabling, or IT hardware installation. Experience installing POS systems and related peripherals. Experience with PC and server hardware. Experience with Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, termination, testing, and troubleshooting. Experience installing TVs, commercial displays, paging systems, or digital signage. Familiarity with basic network concepts, including switches, IP addressing, Ethernet, and connectivity troubleshooting. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific certifications are beneficial but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and carry technology equipment weighing up to 50 pounds . Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, and work in various positions for extended periods. Ability to safely use ladders and work at heights required for installations such as televisions, displays, cabling, and paging equipment. Ability to work in a variety of customer environments, including offices, retail locations, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and construction or renovation sites. Ability to transport tools, equipment, and materials between work locations. Travel & Scheduling This position requires regular travel to customer sites within the assigned territory. Overnight travel may be required depending on project location. Technology deployments may also need to be performed outside of normal business hours to minimize disruption to customer operations. They take ownership of their assignments, communicate effectively when issues arise, and leave every customer location with equipment fully tested, the work area clean, and project documentation complete. Most importantly, they understand that they are not only installing technology. They are representing the company in front of the customer and are expected to provide a professional experience from arrival through project completion.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
