In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Your expertise will help keep our customers' outdoor power equipment, lawn mowers, chainsaws, and other machinery running smoothly. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of mechanical systems and contribute to a service-oriented environment where quality and customer satisfaction are top priorities. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on small engines and related equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Repair and overhaul small engines, including carburetors, ignition systems, fuel systems, and electrical components. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups to maximize equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting techniques. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and adherence to safety standards before returning it to customers. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports for all repairs performed. Assist customers by explaining repair procedures, providing maintenance advice, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the process. Skills Proven experience in dealership or service technician roles specializing in small engine repair or equipment maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, power generation systems, and heavy machinery such as Caterpillar equipment. Proficiency reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues. Hands-on experience with electrical work including diagnostics of electrical systems in engines and equipment. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and manual handling techniques required for heavy lifting and mechanical repairs. Knowledge of diesel engine repair, automotive repair fundamentals, and general vehicle maintenance practices. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems accurately using diagnostic tools; experience with generator repair is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem-solving.
