Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our dynamic service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Your expertise will help customers get back to work or leisure activities quickly and confidently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of machinery, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators, and other power equipment, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to deliver exceptional service. Stihl Certifications is definitely a plus! Responsibilities Diagnose issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical inspection techniques to identify faults accurately. Perform repairs on small engines, including engine overhaul, component replacement, and system adjustments. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and spark plug installations to keep equipment running smoothly. Troubleshoot electrical systems and wiring harnesses on various power equipment using hand tools and power tools. Repair and maintain power generation systems, including generators and heavy-duty equipment requiring diesel engine repair expertise. Utilize soldering skills for electrical repairs and ensure proper manual handling of heavy or bulky components during repair procedures. Maintain detailed service records, follow safety protocols, and ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and schematics. Qualifications Proven dealership experience or service technician background in small engine repair or automotive repair is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in engine repair, electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and vehicle maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, electrical work, soldering techniques, and power generation systems is essential. Experience working with Zero Turns, or similar machinery is a plus. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and equipment maintenance practices required for efficient repairs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks associated with equipment repair. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
